The Decisions Archive
The Decisions Archive contains decisions issued, in redacted format, by the Tribunal and its predecessor, the Refugee Appeals Tribunal, from 2006 to date. It also contains all set aside (granted) decisions from 2000 to 2005.
New decisions are added to the Archive on a monthly basis.
Any decision quashed by the Tribunal following the decision by the Superior Courts in judicial review proceedings will be removed from the Archive and replaced with a notice of its removal.
How to access the Decisions Archive?
Anyone can access the Decisions Archive once they have registered as a user. This can be done by contacting the Tribunal (details below). A username and password and instructions on how to access and research the Archive will then be supplied.
Data Protection
All decisions in the Archive are redacted to exclude any information that may lead to the identification of appellants or any other person. The Tribunal takes its duty to protect this information very seriously.
Registered users should be aware of section 26 of the International Protection Act 2015, which requires the Tribunal to ensure that the identity of appellants is kept confidential. While the Tribunal takes all practicable steps to redact any information in a decision that may lead to the identity of any person being revealed, registered users are obliged, under the terms and conditions governing the use of the Decisions Archive, to bring any matters of concern regarding compliance with this obligation to the attention of the Tribunal as soon as possible and, most importantly, to not circulate further or publish.
